Funny Girls

This girl is crazy. You know what stinks so bad? What causes her to plug her nose as she drinks her milk and eats breakfast? BANANAS!!! Kate's banana to be exact. Kara used to devour bananas with the other 2, but no longer. Now they are disgusting and smell apparently. She will eat banana bread and smoothies with bananas though. I just thought it was so funny that she'd plug her nose. "Mommy, I smell banana." They both have quite the sense of smell though, quick to catch on. When we are in the car they always point out the cow poop smell or once when I snuck Justin some sour patch kids as he drove Kate picked up on it a few seconds later. Today she caught me sneaking chocolate mini eggs...She sniffs the air a couple times and says "I smell chocolate." If you would have eaten your dinner I would have shared... :)
And here is my orphan girl. :) She wanted lots of braids in her hair, so I did that, then we went to a friends to play where she found a dress up dress and a headband. And then wanted to go outside and play so we have to put their coats on. Isn't she adorable? :)
And what did the kids find? Look in the bottom corner of the picture...
Yep a dead gopher! They wanted to pet it. I drew the line there. Lainey and her dad shot it actually. Apparently you have to get the pregnant ones before they give birth. Fun in the country!
Just in case the last view wasn't close enough for you. The girls asked me to take a picture of just the gopher so they could remember it.
:) Love them.

Snow?

What is this white stuff floating gently down from the sky? Oh yeah, it is winter??!

One Sunday evening we got beautiful, soft, fluffy snow. Here in Lethbridge it is usually pretty windy so when it snows it just looks depressing and cold and scary. But not this day. We were warm and cozy in our home and the kids were asleep. A winter wonderland...in March. :) It was beautiful! And it was gone the next day.

I don't love winters, but this year we haven't even had one it seems...except for that solid week of -45 and snow that happened THE DAY we got home from California...what a welcome. The kids wanted to play in the snow, so that is the bummer about this winter, but the roads have been beautiful! Love that! Anyway, I also LOVE when the snow gently settles on each branch, ledge, twig, wire, and stays there. It was gorgeous. The pictures don't really do it justice.

See, even on the wires. That is cool.

 Awesome.
And this is what we did all evening. Sat by our big window and read. And watched my belly dance around. :) I love quiet nights in.

The 3 Amigos

One Sunday night a few weeks ago Zach brought up his new shorts I got him (on clearance, $3 each! Woo hoo! He'll be wearing a lot of plaid this summer...) and each of them tried them on. It was really cute to see them all play around in them. I was trying to get a picture of the 3 of them; NOT an easy task. So here is a smattering of pictures I took to capture the moments. :)

Kara and Zach were all for standing there and smiling nicely for me, but as usual Kate really just wanted to wrestle!
There's one.

The real twins. :)

Eyes wide shut.
These kiddos make me smile. Busy, yes. Crazy, mostly. But when they are all playing and getting along it is so much fun to watch. :)

I was in the other room when I heard Justin say "Uh oh. Go show Mommy." Kara was playing with a little remote control car and somehow got her hair all wrapped up in it. Yikes. I was determined not to have to cut it off...
I got the tools and opened up the machine, only electrocuting myself once. :) It was still on and trying to spin apparently. Her hair just stopped it! Found the power button and we were all good. The most impressive part is that I put it all back together right so it still works AND we saved her hair!

The (not so) Blank (anymore) Wall

February is my month of creativity I've discovered. I did some purple crafts for my living room last February. Must be the boring "is winter ever going to end" mindset I get into. Although this winter hasn't been bad at all I might add. I really can't complain. Anyway, this year I tackled the big blank wall. Right when you walk in it is the first thing you see. We wanted to get a nice big picture of Christ to put there and looked into it. Those things are pricey! AND this spot is a very easily accessible spot that I wouldn't want my pricey painting lingering in. Just in case. Anyway, thanks to good old pinterest and the dollar store I got my creativity cap on and went to work. I am quite pleased with the result. It brings color into my life. :) I like color.
So these were the ideas from pinterest. The first one was supposed to be glue a design on canvas and paint it afterward. After I got all of the materials I read that glue doesn't work and that this was actually puffy paint. Oh. (Taught me to really look into projects before you do them.) Anyway, I liked the set up of the middle gallery wall, and I LOVED the design (AND THE COLORS!!!) of that material swatch. My living room has purples and greens in it though, so I had to adjust a bit. Anyway, here's how it turned out!!

It fills the space, brings in color, looks good with my new Christmas pillows (thanks mom!), and was so fun to paint and create!!!
Oh, and it was cheap too...all stuff from the dollar store (except the candle holders, my mom gave me those). So will it last, probably not, but it only really needs to last 17 more months in this house... :) The only problem I see with it is that there are almost too many pictures of us in the living room. Kinda like a shrine to our family. What can we say, we love ourselves!

Oh, and happy 32 weeks!!! I am really getting excited to have this baby (who currently has the hiccups)! The kids are too. They all think this process is taking way too long. I am starting to agree!!! Still 8 weeks away?! Let's be realistic...9 weeks away! Baby chicks are born after what, 21 days?? Anyway, I am starting to feel it more, especially by the end of the day. Slow and tired.
