Waterpark--Revisited

Justin was home this last Thursday "studying for a test." So, we went to the waterpark!! I love irresponsible decisions! :) It was a million times better with Justin there. We even found a few slides Zach could go on and he LOVED it! He even went by himself!
Justin and Zach on the big kid slide. (About all I can handle!)

He went all by himself! My big boy. He started on his bum and flipped during the ride. One time he came down he was taking forever. I guess he kept getting stuck because he was scooting down on his bum the last few feet!

He LOVED it!

He chose his outfit. He likes to pick his shirts. Definitely suited the occassion!
A true California boy. Nice form! :)

4 months and Counting

Well, the girls are 4 months already! I know I just had their stats up, but here are their official 4 month stats:
Kate 14 lbs 3 oz
60% weight 25% height 75% head
Kara 12 lbs 6 oz
25% weight 25% height 75% head
So, in the 2 weeks that have passed, Kate has gained about 8 oz and Kara only 4! Both of the girls are the same height, and believe it or not have the same head circumference! HA! Since Kara is 25% in both height and weight, the nurse said that she is perfect weight for her height, so she is doing just fine. She just seems like a skinny mini to me.It is hard with twins because they are too easy to compare. I've got to get over that!
Hiya! Get her Kara!

Kara modeling a headband I made for the girls. I just hand sewed a little snap to the headband and put a snap on the back of the flower and a stud on the front. There is another little daisy flower I made too, to coordinate with outfits...you know. Fun girl stuff! These girls are baldies, so headbands will be their buddies for a while. I thought this was pretty funny, its a fancy pirate patch. :) By the way, I found her like this. I didn't do it on purpose.

Bye to more Friends

Why do we have to grow up, graduate, move for jobs, and miss friends we make all of the time? Sometimes, progression just stinks! :) This time of year means a lot of people move. Yuck. Anyway, this day was a goodbye day for Alysha Sladek. It was +20 C (68 F) for a day this past week (sandwiched in between 2 snowy weird days) so we went to the temple and took pictures of all the kids. Here are Kara and Kate sporting extremely cute warm weather outfits, with accessories by Alysha. Alysha made their headbands and bracelets for them. The flowers might be as big as their heads, but they just HAD to wear them to bid a proper farewell to Alysha. Thank you!!! We will miss you!
Zach and I at our picnic at the temple. It was +20, but of course it was a bit breezy. Anyway, it was just SO nice to be outside!

Here are a bunch of kids--17 to be exact--from 5 families. It was hilarious trying to take this picture!
A couple shots of our crew.

What a good big brother. He is kissing Kara here, but I have to tell you that when I put these bows on their heads Zach came up and smell the flowers. HA!

Goodbye Friends...

'Tis the season for friends to move away...sad. I hate this time of year! We had a playdate with a couple of our friends that would be moving, Teya and "Yaya" (Brooklyn). We are going to miss them a lot!! Thanks for playing. Oh, and Jordana, don't even think about leaving us too!
Yaya, Jayna, Zach, and Teya...will be reunited at Stake Dances in 12 years! :)

Guesstures...Zachary Style!

We had some friends over last night to play games. We played Guesstures and Zach watched us take turns and go up and act and guess...Then it was his turn.

Sentimental Sunday

My happy babies showing off their sentimental outfits. The white outfit was one I got for one of my dolls. Growing up, our school's mascot was the Tigers with the colors red, black, and white, so this outfit was perfect! My niece later wore it to my high school volleyball games and now my baby girls are wearing it. It's like playing house all over again, but for real! Aww. The pink outfit that Kara is wearing is an outfit I wore as a baby. Complete with the plastic 80's snaps and all. Too cute. So Mom, does it look like me?

Just another shot...because I couldn't resist.

Too sweet. To go along with the sentimental theme, this was my baby ring given to me by Jana Kaas, a very dear family friend. It is a peridot (my August birthstone) in a gold heart-flower pattern decorated ring. I love this ring and am so excited it finally kind of fits these girls' long skinny fingers!

Bed time! Pretty cute, eh? I love these four little eyes staring up at me.

The girls looking pretty today in their extremely cute and soft dresses from Aunt Carrie!
Thank you!!!

Nothin...but Extreme Cuteness X 2

This is mainly for the grandparents and aunts and uncles and anyone else who doesn't mind watching a few minutes of the girls just smiling and happy. Enjoy!
(by the way, the first video was a couple weeks ago when I was on the phone with my sister Carrie...don't worry. I got my passports now!)

The Numbers Are In!

I got really curious last week and it was a BEAUTIFUL day, so I loaded Zach and the girls on our triple stroller (AH!) and we took a long walk to the clinic where we weighed every one.

Kate- 13 lbs 10 oz 23 1/4 in

Kara- 12 lbs 2 oz 23 1/4 in

Zach- 27 lbs 6 oz 33 1/2 in

Amelia- 1-- yeah right. :)

So even though Kate seems huge to us I looked back at Zach's stats and he was 13 lbs 4 oz at 2 months! The girls are almost 4 months now. Wow.

And just to make you all grateful you live somewhere else: (unless you live here...) I took this this morning...now it is even more of a blizzard outside. FUN!

Happy Easter!!!

Last Monday we dyed eggs and learned about Easter and the Resurrection of Christ with the Fitzners. It was a fun night, but I have to admit kind of stressful with a sick/tired Zach and egg dye! AH! My sister Katie is going to invent a clean wonderful way to dye eggs with kids...please do it before next year Kates!!
Dye...and apparently food all over his cute face. I stole this picture from Jordana's blog...thanks!
His face was too funny in this picture not to post. He would not look at the camera all night and when he did...I got this!

Showing off his green hands.

Evidence to the REAL reason why his hands were green! Yuck! I know...sorry...kind of.

A few of the finished products.

Some didn't make it to the finished product picture. :)

Happy Easter!

Justin and I had a great experience on Good Friday. We had been out getting some Easter stuff...bad idea. It was crazy and stressful, and other than the fact that we were all together...not very much fun. A lot of it was gone and just not what we wanted. Kind of a waste of time and money. Later that night we put Zach down to sleep and watched "The Lamb of God." It was such a neat depiction of what Easter REALLY is all about. It was also very stormy outside, with thunder and lightning, so I felt like we were really almost living the crucifixion and resurrection, living the movie, as we watched it. It really made me stop and ponder on more important things. I know that Christ really did come to the Earth, atone for our sins, die for us, and was really resurrected so that we could all repent, change, and return to our Father in Heaven after this life. I am SO grateful for Him, and for the knowledge and understanding of the Atonement I have, and for this Easter season that we can especially remember what Jesus Christ did for every person that ever lived. I know He is our Savior and he will come again, and the thunder and lightning, and a movie on Good Friday reminded me of that.

Another Zachism...

Zach is like his mother in that he LOVES soft cuddly things and he loves to snuggle. I admit, I still sleep with a soft yellow blanket up next to my face every night (Thanks Angie!) and if I don't have it, I cry. No, but it does help me fall asleep faster. ANYWAY, this is about Zachy. Every night we lure him into his crib by making his favorite stuffed animals talk to him. The black bear lays on the right, the white bear on the left, a penguin and a lamb on each shoulder, 2 fuzzy soft blankets (that I have had him in since he was a baby. I figure I love it, so will he!) and then his doggy goes on top of the blankets and him! See how happy it makes him! Here's a visual in case anyone ever has to put him to bed. :)

Waterpark!!

So I am a little crazy, but it all worked out just fine...I heard that a few of my friends were going to the water park in West Edmonton Mall, so even though it was during his nap time,I thought Zach would love it and I would love to get out of the house, so we did it! All four of us did it! I was a lot slower than usual and it took a lot of preparation and recovery, but we came, we saw, we conquered. Luckily the girls slept the whole time. What a fun, and exhausting trip.

It was so humid/hot in the waterpark that my lens fogged up! Here are a few pictures of pure joy in the wave pool...

What a cutie patootie!
Fun slide...cool "Barbie-arm" pose!
He loved to splash around in the end of the water slide.

Zach relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day. He kept saying "Ah, warm."

What the girls did the whole time! Luckily...I really wanted to put their cute swimsuits on though. Maybe next time!

Happy Birthday Zach!!! The REAL Day...

I can't believe Zach is TWO!! The fact that we have 3 month old twins makes that okay though. Anyway, the last 2 years have FLOWN by. I love this little boy. He makes me so happy. I love all of his little phrases, his sense of humor, his cute smile, the funny intonations he uses, his quirky OCD traits (Oh No! Broken!) his politeness, his fun-loving nature, his big hugs and kisses he gives to everyone, and his zest for life. Thanks Zach for making the last 2 year awesome! You really are my sunshine and make me so happy!
Zach loves to blow out "birdays" and so I let him do it several times. Here he is with his eggs at breakfast. He blew them out in his mashed potatoes at dinner. Good thing he did, because his little cousin blew them out on his cake!

Here's his birthday cake. It was a copy of his dog he sleeps with and has been carrying around everywhere in the house. It was another fun cupcake cake
Cute little doggy...Nemo was better, but this will do. :) And yes, every chocolate chip was hand placed...
My 2 year old! AH! He is really getting this posing thing down!

Cute messy face.

Our family; busy, but happy.
