Mother's Day!!

I know, it was almost a month ago...but I'm finally just getting there!!! Happy Mother's Day to me!!! And you!!! And you, mom and mom-in-law!!! And you grandmas!!! I wouldn't be or know how to be a mom with out all of you, SO...thanks.
I really, really do love being a mom. Growing up I looked forward to it and now I am so glad it is finally here.It is a huge responsibility, a huge challenge, most times a huge mess, and above all huge blessing. Not going to lie, this last bit has been VERY busy and hard, but I am learning that it all about how I perceive it. The mind is a powerful thing. If I act selfishly or dwell on the negative, that is just how life feels...negative...no fun...woe is me. When I make the effort to see the positive and celebrate it, forget myself and GIVE, life is so much brighter and I feel more loved, loveable, and able to love! I am determined to do better in ENJOYING this journey, living it up, calming down, and just being.
First I got to just lay in bed until breakfast, cards, and 3 children came to me! I enjoy the few bites of Justin's DELICIOUS EGGS and TOAST that I got. I think that I had strawberries and bananas and milk, too. The kids could tell you.
I got some pretty sweet (as in awesome) cards

FROM JUSTIN:

HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Justin said it would have been even more perfect if there was a TV with Sports Centre on it.

(and no, that isn't misspelled. That is how us weird Canadian's spell things like that.)

FROM THE KIDS:

I loved Justin's letters he wrote from the kids. They were perfect.

Then the kids left, so I slipped into our jet tub that NEVER gets used. You can bet on what happened next...

Yep, and don't I look happy?!

I knew when I was getting in that that would happen. It was actually a lot of fun.It reminded me of that children's book "Five Minutes Peace." A must read for parents with multiple children. :)

Us after church.

I love these kiddos.

Happy Mother's Day!

Awesome Day...NOT!

Morning of May 4th...we wake up to this. I literally gasped out loud. Are you kidding me?! Come on Spring!
More of the ugliness...I mean moisture for the farmers. Right. We'll be positive about this.

And to top it off, our basement flooded! Weeee! :) Justin came home from his first day of delivering babies, right when his first lady was about to push. I felt so bad! He ended up missing the WHOLE day while we moved EVERYTHING upstairs, vacuumed up water, acquired and moved fans, and ripped up carpet underlay. So tiring. I felt even worse when we found out insurance would have paid for an emergency crew to come out and do all of that grunt work had we thought to call them.
What the kids did all day. Watched movies, ate popcorn and hung out amid the junk in the living room in their pjs. Pretty sure this was taken around 6 pm...yikes.

Fat lips and Wedgies!

Zach got a fat lip. I think Kara stood up while he was hovering over her or something and her head hit his lip, I think...(this happened over a month ago...I forget!)...anyway...he was pretty distraught.
The best part of getting a fat lip. Popsicles for breakfast.

It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

HA! He went potty and put his own underwear on. I had no clue until I finally caught a glimpse of this! Backward undies! That cannot be comfortable!

Friends!!!

Yay for friends! Our good friends Katherine and Kyle were up from Calgary for the day with their boys. We finally got to meet Baby Warren!! Zach and Sebastian---"C-Bass" in our house---met on a walk when they were about 5 months old! We just met up on the sidewalk and found out our boy's birthdays were 2 days apart and the rest is history. Then they moved to Calgary... :( Boo. Anyway, they came to visit and eat dinner with us. It was great to see them again and to see how OLD and BIG our kids are getting!
Our cute kiddos. Kara can't help but check out Warren. Woo woo.

I love this picture of C-bass and Warren! I am pretty proud of this capture...even though they did all the work! They are so cute.

And here we are! Aren't we so cute. :) I miss going on walks and having playdates with her.

From the archives:Our first shot together at a Halloween party.
Da boys...

Twinners

These girls are so stinking cute together now. They love each other and are always together. They seem a bit lost when one is sleeping or not in the same room with the other. This picture was taken when Kara woke up early. I took her out to try and let Kate sleep, but she wouldn't have it! She kept going up to the closed door and banging on it with her hand. She wanted in so bad. Well, she finally woke Kate up and when I opened the door and let her run in she was ecstatic! She ran up to Kate's crib like this and they did their little twin handshake that they always do. :) Just kidding. They did jabber quite a bit and try and get down or up or whatever it took to hang out together. I don't know what it is like to be a twin, but I love watching these two grow up together as twins. I hope they are always best friends. I hope they are always this happy to see each other in the morning. :) I am really glad that they are girls, and that they are mine. Sisters just need each other. Right girls?

Uncle Dick's Birthday

Richard turned the big 2-5 so they all came over to our house, Party Central, for cake and ice cream. We ate the famous Cinnamon Swirl Bundt Cake of course. De-lish.
Happy Birthday Dick!
Do they look like brothers?
I love Zach's pose here. All proud, like it's his big day or something.

What a nice Uncle sharing his candles with Zach. :)

Rainy Day!

Rainy Day!!!Zach had to try out his new umbrella Avery gave him for his birthday, so we got our boots on and we went for a walk to Kamry's and splashed in puddles. (P.S. see my daffodils in the background! Aren't they gorgeous! It was so fun to have them...they are shrivelling now...)

Zach and his handful of worms...
Mmmmmm... SO cute!

My beautiful daffodils I planted last October came up. I LOVE tulips and daffodils!

"Here Kamry!" HA HA!

Just hangin' with the worms!

One of Kate's talents. I love to watch her eyebrows go up and down with each emotion. Cute cute...

Noses

In the nose...

Over the nose...

On the nose...

I think we had taquitos this night...salsa and sour cream to dip them in. The girls love dipping everything, and then they usually lick their plates. :) Pretty cute!

"I Scream, You Scream..."

We were hosting Sundaes on Sunday last month (we provide the ice cream and a couple other families bring toppings) and i gave the girls their first OWN ice cream cone. They loved it...of course!! A messy, fun adventure.
This is Kara's new smile. Pretty funny.Lick!
Yum yum...

She kept doing this! It was funny!

Then she would bite the bottom of the cone. Notice the ring of ice cream --the result of the previous photo... :)

"Mmmm... mom, this is SOOO good! Dee dyooo!"

"Pretties"

Kate LOVES to get her pretties in. Pretty Piggies. I think they are cute too. Yes, I wish she had more hair to put in them, but skullet pigtails work too! :)

Kara thinks they are pretty cool.

Giddy-Up!
