Let's just get this out...
I LOVE SAN DIEGO!!!!!
Okay. There, I said it. It is one of the best places in the world. A few days before we left we headed to San Diego and hit up Sea World. Since it was "winter" they had short hours and we practically ran for place to place trying to see and do everything! We all had a great time though and our tickets are good until the end of the year so we need to get back to California so we can go back to Sea World and make the most of our money and memories!
They have a little Sesame Street area that has a bunch of rides and play sets.

Barefoot baby in February. This is the life. Addie HATES wearing socks or shoes so we should probably move here where she can do that. :)

We even payed money to feed the Sea Lions. I felt so spoiled. :) And ripped off. Especially when the stinking bird swooped out of no where and snatched my fish as I threw it.
3 Generations.

After seeing the sharks. Zach loved it!
Standing like a flamingo. Their legs are SO skinny. I bet they would snap so easily.
And the sea turtles. That big black one heading toward the water had the nastiest goop coming out of it's eye. I don't know if it was sick or that was normal, but yuck.
Gawking at the walrus. That thing was huge. And had a white eye? Weird.
And of course SHAMU!!! It always amazes me how they get those whales to listen to them. They don't ever get in the water with them anymore, but it is still awesome to watch them jump and do their thing!
This one was HUMONGOUS.
They are such beautiful creatures.
Amazing how they can get them to do it all in sync. 
Always a good show.
And the dolphins are my favorites! Except they changed the show to include more gymnastics and people and drama/story telling. I give it a 4. I want the focus back on the dolphin!!!
Look at that cute little profile in the darling eyelet hat. :) Too sweet. She was so good all day and loved to see the animals too.
What a tired sweetheart.

They've got hops.
The girls really wanted a picture with the star of the show, Marina. :)
And these things were cool. The manta rays! We fed these guys too. they were a little creepier to feed, but SO awesome to touch. So soft. Zachy really loved these guys.
And right before closing we RACED over to the tide pool area to see the sea stars and other little creatures. The kids had been waiting all day to do this too, but it was the only thing that didn't have a scheduled show so we pushed it to the end and almost missed it. Seriously, the hours were so short! Like 10-5? Huffing and puffing around Sea World. And the saddest part was that they are redoing the enclosure for my favorite animal there, the beluga whales. It was opening the next week or something. Dang!! Guess we have to go back!!!
Little do they know that a huge sea star is about to grab them all and digest them.
We let the kids each pick something from Sea World as a memory. Here are their treasures. Shark figures, Waddles the penguin, and a pretty mermaid. :)
Afterward we went to Old Town San Diego to the AMAZINGLY redone Mormon Battalion Visitor's Center. Seriously, if you go to San Diego, you must go here!! It was so interactive and modern, like a little Mormon Disneyland Exhibit! So well done. The kids LOVED it. And it helped that this sister missionary worked at Disney World before going on her mission. She had an incredible voice and was perfect!
Kate got picked to be dressed up like a Battalion Member. :)
They had fun games to play and things to look at.
And we even got to pan for gold!
Kara's finds! She was so proud of the big pieces of gold she found. Turns out she was picking out the white rocks...not the iron pyrites they had in there! Ha ha!
And here is Addie girl, being her good self and of course, taking off her socks. Again.
The girls said goodbye to their friend and had to do a princess pose with the Disney World worker. :) (and yes, Kate got soaking wet from that panning for gold. Luckily they had aprons to cover the top half or else she would have been soaked there too!)
Then we found a delicious REAL mexican food place with yummy home made tortillas and we chowed down. All SOO tired.
