A Walk in the Park

So I have been a horrible blogger! The reason really is that we do basically the same thing every day. I finally decided to show you what we do and celebrate the arrival of Fall here in Edmonton. I hope you enjoy this photo journal of our daily walk in the park. It is a lot of pictures! Sorry, but you can just scroll fast. The beginning of our walk. This is on a path by a big pond. Here's a little fall colors for you all.

I took this one for my mom because I thought she would love the cattails.

This is Zach's favorite part because he gets to get out of his stroller and explore. At this point in my pregnancy, I don't mind going at his pace. It's still exercise, right? Sure keeps him trim!

Fall is my favorite season. These pictures don't do the colors justice, but it is better than nothing! As much as I complain about Canadian winters, I really love the change of seasons. I just wish some weren't so long and others weren't so short! :)

Zach's favorite pasttime. He loves to pick up the rocks, and in this season, the pinecones and carry them around. It is so funny because he will be walking/running down the path and then all of a sudden he stops, retraces a few steps and finds that ONE rock or pinecone that caught his eye. What a precious gem.

Ooo, Ahh... I almost got a real live fox in this shot! I missed it by 1 second!

Here is the fox that I missed. See it way in the distance? That was pretty cool! We've never seen animals here before!

This is one of the coolest things about living here. There are berries everywhere. Most of this foresty area we walk through is raspberry bushes. This was the first time we walked through that I didn't see any ripe raspberries. Darn. It was so fun to just be on a casual walk and then, "Oh look, a raspberry! Here son! Enjoy." This picture has choke cherries on the right I think and then I don't know what on the left. Pretty though. We'll save these ones for the fox.

Me proving 2 things: I am on this walk, and there is red here in Alberta. I really miss all the red leaves Utah had. It is pretty yellow up here, but there is a little red around.

Trying to pick a dandelion. "Errr, Duck!" = Errr, stuck! in Zachish. He makes noises like that all of the time. It is so funny to hear him grunt.

This puddle always gets in our way. Well, Zach loves it, but I don't love it so much when he has his hole-y crocs on. Wet socks. Yuck. He listened well and moved right along though. Dry socks. Good boy.

I've had a few requests for twin belly shots, so here it is! I love what this pregnancy has done to my legs. :)

Zach thought taking pictures with the timer was pretty cool and insisted on his own. He was so funny, standing there by the wall waiting. Monkey see, monkey do!

Silly Zachy!

This was a picture that was taken at Echo Lake by my sis-in-law I saw and HAD to put up. Whose kid is this anyway.

And this is a practice Zach developed that we DO NOT allow, because we don't want to let him think it is okay to take off the vent tops just in case things start disappearing. BUT I had to get a picture, so I had him do it last night. He takes the vent cover off, sticks his legs in, and just sits there, ususally with both hand on his knees, just kickin' it. It is SO funny and hard not to laugh when he does it. Weird! Wonder where he gets it from...

Welcome Dallin Yule Olsingch and Happy Birthday Mom!

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! Her favorite present was of course her 20th granchild, born the morning of her birthday, but I heard she also loved her Build a Bear "Cubbie Gordon" she got to go make with her other grandkids. What a beauty. LOVE YOU MOM!!

Out for the Count

Well, Zach has been having a little sleeping trouble. I don't know if he is sick, teething, or what. He just isn't doing the 8:30-8:30 thing lately. He has been going to sleep late and waking up early, crying. He did it again this morning...Saturday. Darn it! So I got up with him and ended up watching/crying to "My Girl" on TV for a few hours. Then I left Zach downstairs to watch cartoons while I got ready for the day. When it was time to go on a walk, I started walking down the stairs and said "Okay, Zach, it's time to..."

I stopped in my tracks to make sure he was breathing. He was. I was just so shocked because my Zachy doesn't do this type of falling asleep anywhere thing. Not this fireball. Well, I think he's pooped. So I am. Time for a nap.

Nesting,Sewing, and Growing...

My project yesterday. When we moved in (one year ago now!!!) There were long brown suedey drapes over each window. Now we (meaning I!) put blinds in all the windows and I finally just made these valances to bring some color into the room. I am just so glad it doesn't looks so depressing, dark, and naked anymore.

DON'T look too close! Crooked sewing lines? Who cares! They are up! This was actually REALLy tricky because I had to sew this see-through toole-weddingish type of material with purple flowers on it onto a green semi-stretchy material. NOT FUN. I could have done better with the material choice, but I was so sick of that material store and not finding what I really wanted so after 2 trips to the store, I just compromised. I think it turned out rather well. better than nothing!

I finally got something into our main floor bathroom. I have been wanting to do this nautical themed bathroom FOREVER and have had the box of shells on the bathroom floor since May I think because I was going to do it! Whoops... Well, I finally did it. I went to Michael's to get some stuff for the walls and was SO SAD to see that I was too late! All the beachy summer stuff was GONE! Except for a tiny 90% off clearance aisle where I got a few things! I love it! So the most expensive thing (other than the unfinished boat wheel) was the plate hangers I bought for about $3 each to hang up the big shells! HA! I got things for 99 cents, 15 cents, $1.50, it was great. Not exactly what I wanted, but SO much better than before. Anyway, here is what a few decorations, some paint, stain, shells, and a glue gun will do!

And I know I posted a belly shot a week and a half ago, but I was in the bathroom with a mirror already, I had the camera, and I am amazed at how it has exponentially grown, so why not take a picture! :) I am now 21.5 weeks. What will this belly look like at 37weeks?!!! AHH!

Well, it is all starting to make a little more sense now!!!!

I know, we can't really believe it either, but we are having TWIIN GIRLS! That's right...I am 20 weeks along now and actually feeling shocked, but great! The weird thing is, that post was on January 11, 2008, the same time the babies are due!!! I thought things were a little different from my first pregnancy, like I felt bigger and I could feel the baby move earlier than with Zach, but this was my second pregnancy so I just kind of figured I was stretched out more, my body new how to relax and be big, and that I just knew what to feel for with the baby kicking. Really though, there are 2 babies growing inside me and 2 "little nudgers" in there. I was hoping to hear it was twins (kind of) just so I didn't feel like I was gaining too much weight! Well, what a relief, I am right on target! Now I don't feel so big! AHHHHH! :) We are SO excited, still very shocked, but so excited and know we are so blessed. They will probably be here in December now. I was trying to avoid the whole Christmas baby thing, but what can you do?! The egg yolks on the due date, the pink helmet, and the pink stroller are all making sense now. Wow. What a day!

Baby A was much more photogenic than Baby B. She gave a great view of her profile and left no doubt about the gender.

This is supposedly Baby Bs face. We aren't sure where, but I hope it is cuter in real life! Oh well though, a mother's love sees past that! :) Baby B was pretty shy. They said they are almost positive she is a girl, at least enough to announce it. But who knows, we could have a boy... At least we have the stuff.

Pink Helmets and Strollers

Zach was really interested in Maren's helmet. He wanted to try it on, so she let him! Pink flames...rock on boy!

They also let Zach try the bike on for size! Looking good buddy! This is as close as I EVER want to see you with a motorcycle again!

And yes, my son has a doll stroller, and his OWN doll! I saw the stroller for $6 at Toys R Us and couldn't resist. When we were in CA in June Zach loved pushing around the doll stroller at Grandma's that used to be mine! That one was green. Yes, this one is pink, but there are some blue stripes on it. Pink was all they had left! Anyway he loves it. Maybe all this pink is coming into Zach's life to break him into the idea of a sister? We will find out Monday!The doll was $1 off of E-Bay. An old Cabbage Patch Doll in mint condition. Shipping was 9x the price! :) HA! So I couldn't resist and bought it for him last Christmas. I named him Jack because I LOVE that name but I don't think I should have a Jack and and Zach. Anyway, everyone needs a Cabbage Patch doll! Justin even had one...Milton Hugh. Strangely enough, I really believe I had a Cabbage Patch with that same name! (Do you remember Katie?) Just another sign that Justin and I really are soul mates!

What a goof.

Before we left for Echo a couple of weeks ago we picked all our zucchini. We came home to this! Just for size help, that box is about 2 feet wide. I have made a lot of zucchini bread and we have delicious sauteed zucchini with almost every dinner. YUMMY! I've heard of a lasagna that you use long slices of zucchini instead of noodles. Sounds good to me. Any other zucchini ideas? Send them this way! I have heard of a

3 Years Down, Eternity to Go!

Well, it has been three whole years already! Happy Anniversary to us! Our anniversary just so happened land on a rainy day so Justin's boss called him and told him that he might as well stay in bed! He got the day off! Yea for timely rain. Our garden needed it too! So, we basically played catch up and did all the errands that we needed to from being gone last week. It was fun to have him around all day. Later that night we went to the Edmonton Temple and did sealings. It was a great reminder of the promises we've made to eachother. Man, I love Justin so much. We know that we have been so blessed these last three years and are so happy to still be very much in like and love.

Three Reasons to LOVE Justin

1. He has an amazingly strong testimony of Jesus Christ and the Gospel and great zeal to do what is right.

2. He is sensitive to my needs and works hard to help out and make me happy.

3. He is extremely friendly and happy. I love his smile and his determination to excel. ( I know that is more like 4, but I had to throw it in!)

Echo #2 and the Cardston Parade!

We had one more week at Echo Lake. Beautiful. Zach LOVES it there. He is also slightly obsessed with shoes. He loved to go in the front room where all of the shoes were and try them on and "tie" them. He calls them "jews." :)

Zach got a blanket swing ride from his first cousins once removed. :) I think that sounds funny. Justin's cousins were at the cabin and Zach loved playing with them. What a ride.

Zach did a bunch of swimming and tubing, but the one new thing he did this week and loved was riding the Sea-Doo. He had a great job and just sat there and looked around once in a while. I made Justin promise me he wouldn't do any 360s with him on it.

And here we are at the Cardston Heritage Days Parade! Zach is sitting here with his Great Aunt Margie. He loved pointing at the horses and making horse noises. He also loved dancing and eating his sucker. What a sticky mess.

After the parade we got together with a bunch of Justin's friends from high school. A few of us all had boys at about the same time. Zach had fun playing with his buddies. Yea for a small town parade day!
