Day 4

Day 4 was Sunday. It was fun to bring the kids to church and introduce them to my ward back home. I didn't see them almost the whole time at church! They kept getting nabbed!

I got to show off my chillens to my good friend Kristen Parker. She just got back from her mission to Chile!!It was so good to see her again! Come visit Kristen!

Sunday dinner. Jason and Kamry came and stayed at my house for a few days. Here is Jason sitting at the kid table telling all of Justin's embarrassing childhood stories. The cousins loved it. I am sure Justin will hear everything the next time he sees them.

Next I got to go show the girls off to Nanny (My dad's mom). She loved them. I loved watching the girls interact with her. Kara was especially smiley and attentive.

Day 5

We got to go to the San Diego Zoo. I hear it is almost as cool as Edmonton's Zoo. :)

Marty!!! Zach was SO happy and wanted to stay and watch them forever. We tried to leave, but he really wanted to stay, so we sat on a bench for a few more minutes. So many Martys! His dream come true! :)

So cool, but so odd! I have discovered something really weird about myself. I get chills ANY time I am near big animals. Horses, cows, gorillas, elephants, giraffes. So weird.

This was also awesome. This weird animal is some kind of anteater. Look closely, there is a baby anteater on its back! The mom just walked back and forth with this baby on its back. Pretty convenient. I wish i would have gotten the picture when it was walking the other direction so you could see the baby's face. So camouflaged and tricky!

Day 6

After a long day of playing at Lake Elsinore (the kids loved it and it was an hour closer than the beach!) we went out with mom and dad and Jason and Kamry to probably one of my favorite restaurants...Pat and Oscars! They have THE best bread sticks. Period. Next time you are in SoCal, you HAVE to go and you will see. Nothing compares. The Pat and Oscars in Temecula has a beautiful duck pond beside it so while we waited for our food we went and fed and chased the ducks.

Day 7

My sister Katie and her kids drove down from Utah to see us! How lovely! It was so fun to all be together again. My friend Jolene (we've been friends, lived across the street...since I was 9 months old!) came down from Bakersfield with her 2 girls. So all of us together equals 1 grandma, 5 moms, and 15 kids. AHHHHH!

I might get shot for this, but oh well, I couldn't resist, Jolene trying to get some sleep. She has had her baby blanket(that thing over her eyes), well, since she was a baby. I remember it from all of our sleepovers. :) Sometimes I would hide it and she would NOT be happy!

Day 8

We spent this day in Newport Beach and Balboa Island with Mare-mare, Katie's family, Jolene and her girls, and Jason and Kamry. We went to the beach, at on the end of the pier at Ruby's Diner, went across the ferry to Balboa Island where we got frozen bananas, and finally headed home. It was a fun, fun day, on which I apparently burned my arm and forehead. Darn it! Oh well, I was able to bring a bit of color back with me. :)

We went to eat at the Ruby's on the end of the pier.

At the end of the pier, right by the restaurant there were a lot of fishermen. The kids loved it!

Zach was entertained by these flapping fish in a bucket for hours. We even saw sea lions in the water! They bit the fish in half as the fishermen caught them! It was pretty sick, half a fish body flapping around on the pier. Bluck.
